October 27 - MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has begun the reorganisation of its business into seven operational divisions, which will become effective on January 1, 2015.
The new operative divisions are: the auxiliary and machinery systems division, which will be headed up by Alexander Nürnberg; cargo handling division, which will be headed by Leif Byström; offshore load handling divisions, which will be managed by Tom Svennevig; offshore deck machinery division, led by Esko Karvonen; offshore mooring and loading division, managed by Leif Haukom; ro-ro division, which will be headed up by Magnus Sjöberg; and global lifecycle support division, for which a manager will be appointed later in 2014.
The new divisions will work closely together in marketing, sales, sourcing, R&D and engineering, which MacGregor says will leverage the scale and capabilities of the whole organisation for the benefit of its customers.
To support this cross-divisional work, the company has also established two new MacGregor Group-level functions: R&D and sourcing, which is to be headed by Erik Hägglund; and marketing and business development, to be managed by Pasi Lehtonen.
