European offshore engineering and logistics service provider Kongstein has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with USA-based Green Shipping Line (GSL) to provide supply chain solutions for the offshore wind energy market in the USA.
In addition to consultancy services, the companies will provide a Jones Act-compliant feeder service using US-built vessels designed by GSL.
The vessels, which will be built at Moran Iron Works in Onaway, Michigan, will transport components from US ports to the various offshore wind energy project sites.
Percy R. Pyne IV, chairman of GSL, said: “Together we will create a complete, viable and economic solution for USA-based wind farms.”
