March 22 - J. E. Oswalt & Sons, based in Batesburg, has increased the capacity and size of its hydraulic trailer fleet with the purchase of 12 lines of Cometto 1MS hydraulic trailers from Kitchen's Crane and Equipment.
The investment gives Oswalt the ability to handle larger loads coupling the two, 6-axle modules into a 12-axle configuration with a lower deadweight and greater overall capacity.
"These new trailers serve our business plan and future project requirements well", says owners, David and Gary Oswalt .
With a focus on the U.S. south east, J.E. Oswalt & Sons offers engineered rigging and heavy transport services to east coast ports, power plants, chemical companies, nuclear facilities and heavy industrial manufacturers throughout the region.
Working in conjunction with the " Charleston Giant ", a 500 ton derrick-barge crane co-owned by J.E. Oswalt, the company will further expand its' fleet to include a 6 split-axle Cometto platform trailer.
"The split-axle trailer, to be delivered in two months time, will offer greater capacity, flexibility and stability when used with the 12 axles in a 1 ½ module configuration", says Kitchen.
