innogy SE made a final investment decision (FID) on the 342 MW Kaskasi offshore wind farm in the German part of the North Sea.

The contract value for wind turbines and foundations, the offshore transformer substation and the cabling is in the region of EUR500 million (USD547.2 million).

Siemens Gamesa will supply of 38, 9 MW wind turbines. Seaway 7 will commence installation of the foundations using a new installation method in third quarter of 2021 in water depths of 18-25 m.

Bladt Industries will deliver of 39 monopiles, 38 transition pieces and one transition piece for the offshore substation. Bladt will start the production in the third quarter of 2020, with the final foundation scheduled to leave the Aalborg site in Denmark by third quarter of 2021.

Bladt Industries will also deliver the offshore substation EPCI contract; this will be executed in cooperation with Semco Maritime and ISC Engineering. The offshore substation is scheduled for installation in the first half of 2022.

Dutch company Twentsche Kabel Fabriek (TKF) will manufacture the cables for the project.

The wind farm will start operations in summer 2022.
