June 6 - James L. Allgood has been elected chairman of the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), while Griff Lynch will replace Curtis Foltz as executive director of the authority.
Having served as vice chairman for two years, Allgood will replace outgoing chairman James Walters on July 1. Lynch will also take on his new role at the beginning of July.
At a recent board meeting, the GPA approved its 2017 fiscal year budget, which includes USD116 million for capital infrastructure improvements.
The funds will cover 15 projects and contribute to construction of the new Jasper Ocean Terminal, which will feature ten berths.
