April 20 - Two Liebherr A 944 c HD Litronic material-handling machines have been delivered to Associated British Ports' (ABP) Humber ports of Grimsby, Immingham, Hull and Goole.
The company claims the delivery is a first for the ports and represents an investment by ABP of about USD 1.5 million.
The Liebherr material-handlers have been working successfully at all four Humber ports. Their adaptability and flexibility mean they can handle a wide range of commodities including project cargoes.
"Compared to recent large crane purchases, these machines are focused on servicing smaller vessels. It does deliver a new type of flexibility and consequently will enhance our operational capabilities and expand the range of services available at our Humber ports," said John Fitzgerald, port director for Grimsby and Immingham.
