December 31 - Recently established HongFa Shipping has confirmed that it is ready to start its new liner service.
Chipol Changjiang, the carrier's first newbuild MPV completed sea trials in early December, just one week after its second sister vessel, Chipol Huanghe, was launched.
Effective January 2015, four 36,000 dwt vessels will be employed on the pendulum liner service between the Far East, South East Asia and the east coast of South America, calling at major ports along the route.
The vessels are equipped with large 53 m x 23 m box shape cargo holds, triple-decks with movable pontoons, and three self-geared heavy cranes with a maximum lifting capacity of 520 tonnes.
HongFa Shipping is now open for cargo booking on the Chipol Changjiang. NEPA Shipping BV has been appointed as agents for HongFa Shipping.
