June 13 - The Project Forwarders Certificate in Project Cargo Management celebrates its fifth anniversary in Houston during the Breakbulk Americas education programme from September 26-27.

More than 450 project forwarders and associated heavy lift transportation specialists from 90 countries have graduated from the ISO-accredited training course, according to course coordinator and general manager of the Project Professionals Group (PPG), Kevin Stephens.

He explained that the two-day training course is specifically developed to fast-track and refresh project management knowledge and skills.

"This is the only international professional development course of its kind that draws on project forwarding workplace experiences in a practical hands-on workshop format," claims Stephens.

"Since the course was first launched it has received excellent feedback and testimonials from graduates who have overwhelmingly said that the training promoted a greater understanding of project forwarding management and increased their confidence to successfully transport super-size cargoes."

Training workshop content includes project forwarding case studies, risk management, strategic partnerships, value adding strategies, traffic and logistics functional planning, meeting client expectations, biosecurity, working with brokers, tricks of the trade, and preparing quotations.

All course participants receive a one-day entry pass into the Breakbulk exibition hall, and group registration discounts are available.

The training will also be offered for the first time during Breakbulk Middle East in Abu Dhabi from October 23-24. The two-day course is also certified by the Project Management Institute (Arabian Gulf Chapter).
