A part of the former company Polzug Intermodal, a subsidiary of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), has been rebranded as HHLA Project Logistics.
With its headquarters at the Georgia seaport of Poti, the company offers specialist transport solutions for heavy and oversized loads in the Caucasus region and neighbouring areas of Central Asia.
"Georgia and the port of Poti have always been a hub on the ancient Silk Road," said managing director Korneli Korchilava. "Over the coming years, we will focus on making a key logistical contribution to the 'New Silk Road' [Belt and Road Initiative] project."
According to HHLA, the company specialises in all stages of handling project cargo, particularly on behalf of international and local haulage firms and operates additional branches in Tbilisi, Georgia, and Baku in Azerbaijan.
