February 23 - Following the acquisition of Great Yarmouth Port Company (GYPC) last year, Peel Ports has named Richard Goffin port director at the UK gateway.
Having spent five years as financial controller at GYPC, Goffin will take on the role of port director for the next six months, working with Peel Ports to develop a growth and investment plan for the newly acquired port.
HLPFI reported on Peel Ports' acquisition of GYPC from International Port Holdings in December 2015.
Great Yarmouth is well established as a key UK hub serving the southern part of the North Sea oil and gas industry, handling vessels supporting the offshore wind power generation sector, as well as ships carrying general and bulk cargoes.
Peel Ports' growth plans for Great Yarmouth include strengthening its existing capabilities in bulk handling and storage and identifying opportunities in growth sectors, such as the energy, biomass, and offshore decommissioning market.
