Freightplus (Australia) has sold its 50 percent stake in its logistics business in Thailand to its joint venture partners.

To reflect this change in ownership, Freightplus Thailand is no longer associated with the Australian project forwarder and has rebranded as FPT Global.

“As a result of the rebrand, we are now able to expand upon our services, accomplish local and global growth objectives, while continuing to develop new client relationships,” said FPT Global.

As part of this expansion, FPT has launched a global renewables division. The company is currently working on two projects in Japan and Vietnam and said that more are scheduled for 2020.

Ronald Johnson has been appointed to lead this division as director of renewables.

Meanwhile, FPT has opened an office in Vietnam. Brett Malcolm, who has over 25 years of experience in the logistics sectors, will lead the office in Ho Chi Minh City. He has coordinated large-scale projects in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar, added FPT.
