Brazil’s Complex do Pecém has partnered with project freight forwarder Fracht to develop a multimodal cargo terminal.
With investment totalling BRL60 million (USD12.1 million), the 10.7-ha facility in São Gonçalo do Amarante-CE, in the industrial area of the Pecém Complex, will cater for the storage and distribution of non-hazardous products.
“This venture is essential for Pecém. It will offer customised logistics solutions for customers. Refrigerated warehouses, for example, may be used especially for sectors such as fishing and fruit growing. These services will allow Porto to receive more diversified types of loads,” said Hugo Figueirêdo, president of Complexo do Pecém.
Fracht president Ruedi Reisdorf added: “Our group believes in the potential of this project, through the constant growth of the state and the Northeast region of Brazil. We are enabling a sustainable project, bringing benefits to customers, partners and the port of Pecém.”
