May 1 - For the three months ended March 31, 2015, Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings reported a net profit of USD29.23 million - up from USD11.3 million in Q1 2014.
Total revenue for the Q1 2015 increased to USD444.85 million from USD403.36 million a year previously.
"We are off to a very good start in 2015 and look forward to a strong year," said William J. Flynn, president and ceo. "As a result, we now expect our full-year results to increase significantly compared with 2014."
Atlas Air saw significantly higher revenues from its charter division, reflected by improvements in commercial and military air cargo and passenger demand, increased aircraft utilisation, and a reduction in heavy-maintenance expense.
The company's ACMI and dry leasing sectors also reported increases in revenues and profitability.
