December 21 - Marine survey agency ETS was appointed to complete a marine warranty survey for a project cargo loading operation in Japan and discharge in Saudi Arabia.
The consignment comprised of six heavy lift cargoes, ranging in weight from 825 to 932 tonnes, which were loaded onboard SAL's heavy lift vessel Svenja at the Port of Higashi-Harima.
The unloading operations in Saudi Arabia were scheduled to take four working days, but had to be extended to seven due to safety-related issues, explained ETS. The company was required to intervene in order to minimise risk during the transport of the cargo on SPMTs.
Meanwhile, ETS also assisted the loading and unloading of two 450-tonne tugs also shipped on SAL's vessel Svenja from the UAE to Spain.
ETS conducted a marine warranty survey for the boats, attending the lifting, stowage and securing operations in Dubai, as well as overseeing the unloading operations in Valencia.
