Egytrans has transported and lifted a 245-ton (222.3-tonne) turbine and 290-ton (263.1-tonne) generator for a power plant construction project in western Cairo, Egypt.
Both units had to be lifted to a height of 16 m, said Egytrans. They were then skidded along a 50 m track to reach their foundations using a strand jack gantry system from Enerpac.
The turbine and generator had to be rotated 90 degrees before Egytrans could move the units to their final positions.
Earlier this year, the company relocated its Cairo head office to Down Town Katameya Mall. Egytrans’ new location can be found here.
