DP World has acquired the Canadian multipurpose terminal Fraser Surrey Docks from Macquarie Infrastructure Partners (MIP).
Located in the greater Vancouver area, Fraser Surrey Docks operates over 1,200 m of berth and has 189 acres (76.5 ha) of yard space.
The acquisition of the multipurpose terminal expands DP World’s footprint in Canada and enhances its service offering for its customers’ breakbulk and dry bulk requirements.
DP World's existing facilities at Vancouver and Prince Rupert have enjoyed strong growth in recent years and the company believes that Fraser Surrey Docks will benefit from being part of DP World's terminal portfolio.
Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, group chairman and ceo at DP World, said: “We are seeing increasing demand from our customers for multipurpose facilities in the region and we abelieve Fraser Surrey Docks has the relevant infrastructure and is in the right location to service this demand.”
