February 22 - Fredrik Eliasson has been appointed president of CSX Corporation, following the retirement of Clarence Gooden.
Gooden and the chairman and ceo, Michael Ward, announced plans to retire from the company effective May 31, 2017. According to CSX, the changes are part of a transition of the company's senior leadership that the board has been considering for more than a year.
Eliasson has been with the US transportation company, which provides rail, intermodal and rail-to-truck transload services and solutions, for 22 years and will maintain his current responsibilities of chief sales and marketing officer in his new position.
