Cargolux Italia has launched a Boeing 747 service between Milan Malpensa Airport, Italy and Incheon, South Korea.

The service includes two weekly connections from Malpensa. On the return trip, the flight is routed via Zhengzhou, China.

The airline expects the main commodities for this route to be fashion items, machineries, luxury cars, pharmaceuticals, and perishables. Cargolux considers the new direct connection strategically important, as it is “South Korea’s commercial gateway, home to the Incheon Free Economic Zone”.

Fabrizio Cortese, chief executive officer Cargolux Italia, explained: “The [South] Korean destination was the last missing piece to complete our network [that covers] the top five Italian export destinations.”
