June 25 - Attention of the project cargo and heavy lift sector will soon turn to the 21st Breakbulk Americas Conference and Exhibition to be held in Houston, Texas between Tuesday, October 12 and Thursday, October 14.
Organisers say that this year's show includes several new segments, such as the Chipolbrok charity golf tournament and Breakbulk Education Day, a daylong programme about the breakbulk/heavylift industry for college students.
Industry leaders will teach students about the basics of breakbulk, chartering, the breakbulk supply chain, project cargo case studies and breakbulk careers. Industry companies and industry associations sponsor the students.
Panel discussions at the event include evolving contract strategies; solutions for US surface transportation project cargo restrictions; capital Investment in South America; forwarders' new role and logistics management.
The three day event concludes with a 'super session' where senior management speakers will each give their perspective on the outlook for project and breakbulk transportation into 2011 with emphasis on how the business will respond to the improving economy.
There is a special USD100 discount for early bird registration, say organisers.
