October 12 - According to Uniport Bilbao, German shipowner BOCS (Bremen Overseas Chartering and Shipping) has made Bilbao its home port for Spanish operations.
As a result of this decision, Uniport Bilbao informed that BOCS has included its ship, Waf Passion, in this port rotation.
In addition, the Spanish port explained that Chipolbrok - whose agent in Bilbao is Mariner - has added a call at the Port of St Petersburg to its Europe-Middle East-Asia service, which focuses on general and project cargo shipments.
Agencia Maritima Artiach Zuazaga has also been appointed agent of Atlantic Ro-Ro Carriers (ARRC) in Spain. Uniport Bilbao suggested that ARRC, which operates a service between Russia, northern Europe and the US Gulf, has shown an interest in calling at the Port of Bilbao.
Meanwhile, stevedoring company at the Port of Bilbao, Consignaciones Toro y Betolaza, recently assisted with the unloading of gas tanks - weighing around 250 tonnes - from SAL Heavy Lift's vessel Paula at the Spanish gateway.
