June 11 - Blue Water Shipping is still experiencing significant growth having opened ten new offices in 2013.
Blue Water reported a turnover of DKK4.483 billion (USD813 million) in 2013, an increase of DKK348 million (USD63 million) or 8.4 percent compared with 2012.
The company's earnings before tax in 2013 were lower than the record profit from 2012, which was DKK85 million (USD15.4 million).
Although this result is below budget, said Blue Water, establishing new offices, acquiring three companies and investing in new buildings at the Port of Esbjerg made 2013 a satisfying year for the company.
Kim Hedegaard Sørensen, managing director of Blue Water, informed that the company's financial expectations for 2014 are to strengthen the result through better earnings and a consolidation of the company's position.
Thomas Bek, global manager of oil, energy and industrial projects, said that the company also saw an increase in projects activity in 2013, with the new offices opened in Stavanger, Sydney, Brisbane and Marseilles involved in these sectors.
