Effective January 7, 2019, Matt Beeton will become ceo for the port of Tyne in the UK.
Beeton joins from transport consultancy APT Business Solutions and has over 20 years' experience within the rail, road and aerospace industries having worked in director positions for Rolls Royce, Northern Rail and National Express.
Port of Tyne chair, Lucy Armstrong, said: “Matt’s background and experience will be invaluable in the future development of the port, bringing a fresh perspective to the business.”
Among many commodities handled, the port of Tyne is an important centre for the offshore and renewable energy sectors.
