Combined international cargo throughput at the state-owned and privately owned marine terminals at the port of Baltimore totalled a record 43 million tons in 2018.

The Maryland Port Administration noted that the value of the cargo passing through the port last year also set a new benchmark: USD59.7 billion, surpassing the previous record of USD53.9 billion reported in 2017.

Baltimore’s state-owned public terminals alone handled 10.9 million tons of general cargo last year, exceeding the 10 million-ton mark for the third year running.
