February 9 - Air Partner has appointed Richard Everitt, currently senior independent director of the company, to succeed Aubrey Adams as non-executive chairman of Air Partner plc, with immediate effect.
Mark Briffa, CEO of Air Partner, commented: "We are very fortunate to have had the benefit of Aubrey Adams' experience and guidance over the last three and a half years. Aubrey is highly sought after as a director and we are grateful to him for bringing the group through a period of considerable change and setting Air Partner on the right track for long term success.
"The leadership of a Chairman who already has a detailed knowledge of the business will enable the Board to concentrate on its strategic goals, ensuring that the best interests of all shareholders and stakeholders are served."
Aubrey Adams, who had confirmed in October 2011 his intention to step down as chairman of Air Partner, once a successor had been identified said: "It has been a great pleasure to serve as chairman of Air Partner. Richard Everitt's (pictured below) understanding of the aviation sector and his experience in dealing with strategic issues facing transportation businesses have already been clearly demonstrated during his period as a non-executive director. Under his leadership I am confident that Air Partner will continue to respond effectively to change and will be able to extend its model of superior client service into new and growing markets."
Richard Everitt has a distinguished record in the aviation and transport sector. He served as a Director of BAA plc, with responsibility for strategy and regulatory matters, between 1991 and 2001 and was Chief Executive ofNational Air Traffic Services from 2001 to 2004. He is currently chief executive of the Port of London Authority.
