The Innovation Award is presented to the company that has developed an innovative piece of equipment or technology designed to improve the lift or transport of heavy and oversize cargoes. It was Liebherr that took home the top prize in this category for its LR 12500-1.0 crawler crane.
The Innovation Award put forward a number of competitive entries and our judges decided to highly commend Sarens for the development of its bespoke gantry system to lift, transport and load-out gravity-based structures weighing approximately 4,800 tonnes each.

The shortlist for this category included Enduro Softslings for its modular and ergonomic lifting system Fastro; Fagioli’s bridge maintenance machine (BMM) 14000 – a tailor-made structure composed of a strand jacking system, beams, stools and SPMTs; Goldhofer’s FT Series of trailers; and MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore) and its system to overcome challenges when lifting the flare towers of FPSOs that includes dual boom floating cranes, and two truss type structures connected to the middle of the flare tower.
