deugro has marked its 100-year anniversary by welcoming its 100th enrolee in two-year DMP trainee programme.
Michael Sharrer joined deugro’s most promising (DMP) programme in June 2024. The two-year journey kicked off at deugro Erie, Pennsylvania, USA, his next stop being Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“I chose the DMP program because it is an incredible opportunity to experience new cultures and meet new people, all while developing professionally and gaining invaluable experience in logistics,” said Sharrer.
deugro’s DMP programme was implemented nearly 25 years ago and is designed to recruit, train and educate a diverse pool of young, global talent, to share theoretical knowledge and practical experience, and to deliver accelerated technical career development within the company. Participants are sent to a different deugro location every three months, allowing them to gain and deepen their theoretical knowledge and practical experience, to network within the industry, amid working on a variety of different projects around the world.
“By internally passing on the many years of company-specific professional expertise and practical experience from senior experts to the younger generation, deugro’s DMP programme is an essential pillar to retain critical in-house knowledge and experience as well as to groom our new generation,” said Diana Kaufmann, president Central Europe, global risk management and HR development at deugro.
She added: “The programme’s lasting success is reflected by the large share of graduates who are still with deugro today and can be found in several positions from project manager to C-Level.”
