Universal Africa Lines (UAL) will deploy its heavy lift vessel UAL Fortitude on a new service connecting the Mediterranean and Black seas with West Africa.
The first sailing will take place later this month with loading ports in Marina di Carrara (Italy), Rijeka (Croatia), Skikda (Algeria) and discharge ports in Port Harcourt (Nigeria), Pointe-Noire (Congo) and Luanda (Angola). Other ports can be added on inducement.
UAL Fortitude is equipped with two 180-tonne capacity cranes that offer a combined lifting capacity of 360 tonnes.
As HLPFI reported here, UAL established a chartering desk in Denmark during May in order to facilitate the launch of the service.
