March 1 - Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM) has opened a new office in Bergen, Norway.
The new branch will offer technical ship management and manning services to the offshore sector and ship-owners in the region.
The new office will be co-located with the Wilhelmsen Ship Services (WSS) division in at Skoltegrunnskaien 1, Bergen.
Haakon Lenz, regional manager WSM Europe commented: "The largest growth in Norwegian shipping takes place in the offshore segment. Other ship owners in the region have also grown significantly. The new operation in Bergen is a consequence of this growth."
Lenz added that there is strong maritime growth in western Norway and that several owners with new tonnage are entering this market.
