Effective January 2025, Wallenius SOL will launch an expanded lo-lo service, adding Tornio, Finland, Piteå, Sweden, and Rotterdam, Netherlands to its network. The new service will complement the carrier’s existing con-ro operations, with two new destinations in the Bay of Bothnia: Tornio, Finland and Piteå, Sweden.

The container vessel, Payton Lynn C, with a capacity of 860 TEU, has been chartered to operate the service between Kokkola, Oulu, Tornio, Piteå, Rotterdam and Antwerp with a fixed bi-weekly rotation. “With this new capacity, we will continue to grow at existing ports while also expanding our offering in the Bay of Bothnia,” said Jonas Wåhlin, chief commercial officer at Wallenius SOL. “The expansion will serve both existing and new customers within the shortsea and feeder segment.”
