The Netherlands-headquartered Wagenborg has purchased an ASD 3280 tug to boost its position in the northwest Europe towage market.
The tugboat will be renamed Waterland. It has an 80-tonne bollard pull and will be the largest in the fleet of Wagenborg Towage, which now consists of 10 vessels. The new acquisition, an ASD 3280, was built in 2020 at the Uzmar Shipyard in Turkey. It can be used for port and terminal towage, escort operations, firefighting , as well as coastal and offshore towage operations, said Wagenborg
Waterland is expected to arrive in Eemshaven early this summer.
