Jan De Nul Group’s jack-up vessel Voltaire has left the COSCO Shipping Shipyard in China and is currently heading for Dubai.
With a crane capacity of 3,000 tonnes, four legs of 130 m long, and capacity to lift 16,000 tonnes of cargo out of the water, Voltaire is the world’s tallest jack-up installation vessel, said Jan De Nul.
Voltaire will soon begin its first project, the Dogger Bank offshore wind project, off the UK coast. Jan De Nul will be responsible for the transport and installation of the GE Haliade-X offshore wind turbines.
The order for this vessel was placed in 2019, as HLPFI reported here.
