Volga-Dnepr Group has delivered over 110 tons (99.8 tonnes) of relief cargo to Port-au-Prince in Haiti to help the country in the wake of a devastating earthquake.
The cargo included tents, water purifiers, mobile kitchens and general cargo.
The group organised two charter flights – an AN-124-100 and Il-76TD-90VD – to deliver the urgent cargo.
The first two flights, which were from Madrid (Spain) and Liege (Belgium) had cargo from several United Nations agencies, the Red Cross and many non-governmental organisations supported by several European Governments. Volga-Dnepr said it plans to keep working with the partners to transport other essential cargo to Haiti.
