“K” Line and Chubu Electric Power entered into a joint development agreement with developer DP Energy for the Uisce Tapa tidal energy project in Nova Scotia, Canada.
The plan involves installing three underwater turbine generators inthe Bay of Fundy, with the aim to start operation of the first turbine in 2023. It is the first tidal project in which Japanese companies will participate overseas.
“Through this project, “K” Line aims to… support the decarbonisation of society while utilising our experiences accumulated in the field of international marine transportation together with partner companies,” said Satoshi Kanamori, executive officer in charge of LNG, carbon-neutral promotion at “K” Line.
