Wagenborg Shipping has placed an order at Royal Niestern Sander shipyard for the construction of a third EasyMax-type vessel, with an option for a fourth.
A sistership of Egbert Wagenborg and Máxima, the newbuild is expected to be delivered in the first half of 2023. The multipurpose vessel design has a cargo capacity of 14,000 tonnes and was jointly developed by Wagenborg and Niestern Sander.
Wagenborg noted the vessel design’s fuel efficiency, stating: “Egbert Wagenborg and Máxima have now proven themselves as sustainable and successful ship types and, together with their future sisters, will continue to contribute to Wagenborg Shipping’s position as a leading multipurpose shipping company.”
