Leer, Germany-based shipbuilder Ferus Smit has launched the Ecobox DP2 vessel Symphony Space, the last in a series of six that will be delivered to the Netherlands-headquartered Symphony Shipping.
The 10,500 dwt multipurpose ship has an overall length of 122.5 m and features a large loading floor area suitable for oversized cargoes. The open top notation means the vessel can sail in all weather conditions without maindeck hatches, which allows for the transport of project cargoes without height restrictions, says Ferus Smit. The ship is equipped with two cargo cranes, with a lifting capacity of 85 tons (77 tonnes) each.
According to Ferus Smit, the Ecobox design is characterised by its flexibility for loading cargoes and its economical and ecological performance.
