June 6 - Rich Rigging Project Services has utilised Enerpac's synchronous lifting system, the EVO 12, to hoist a 600-ton (544-tonne) racing super yacht on behalf of Titan Marine Engineering in Auckland, New Zealand.
The EVO 12 system digitally monitored and controlled 14, 100-tonne capacity Enerpac cylinders that were being used to lift the USD50 million yacht 1.6 m for repairs and maintenance.
The high pressure cylinders, operating as single units and in pairs, were synchronise from a central control point to lift the craft. All cylinders were extended in synchronised steps, maintaining the balance of the load.
By monitoring the position and load of each lifting position movements are safely and efficiently managed, within permissible load and synchronous stroke tolerance parameters, pre-set to suit the project.
"As with this job, a single operator controls all movements from a central control position, which comprehensively displays the live operation and records stroke and load data for each lifting position at user-defined intervals, for client scrutiny or procedure certification," said Neville Stuart, Enerpac New Zealand manager.
