Ilmatar selected Ville Silvasti as its TCI contractor for the Pahkakoski project.

The project, which is being developed at the Ii municipality in Northern Ostrobothnia, will comprise 30 turbines. The construction phase of the project will start in 2024, and commercial operation is planned for the summer of 2025. The turbines will be supplied by Danish manufacturer Vestas.

Silvasti said that it is championing its TCI concept for the construction and servicing of wind power projects as it aims to take on a more comprehensive role in the renewable energy arena. It will provide flexible services to assist with the construction of new wind farms, as well as servicing and decommissioning existing ones. Paula Kohvakka, head of TCI development at Silvasti, said: “In addition to bringing cost-efficiency, a more industrialised way of executing projects will pave way to even more wind power projects.”
