German heavy lift specialist Schmidbauer has acquired a third 80-tonne AC 4.080-1 crane.
The latest delivery features a 60 m boom and is equipped with the 8.5-16 m bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of almost 79 m and 40 degrees of offset. The crane can also carry up to 9.3 tonnes of counterweight onboard within 12-tonne axle loads.
Schmidbauer is planning to use its new AC 4.080-1 as an all-rounder for a variety of jobs that include urban lifts where space is at a premium and much more: erecting concrete and prefab components, trench and utility line construction, antenna erection and container lifting.
Last month, Schmidbauer added an Enerpac SBL600 hydraulic gantry to its heavy lift fleet. The gantry will play a key role in handling almost 50,000 tonnes of cable for the SuedOstLink power infrastructure project.
