Earlier in October, Sallaum Lines launched a monthly service route connecting Europe to the USA.
The monthly service will call at Bremerhaven, Antwerp, and Southampton with discharge ports in Freeport, Jacksonville, Baltimore, and Newark. The ro-ro carrier and logistics service provider said the route is part of its diversification strategy.
In terms of fleet renewal, the Belgian carrier said that it plans to double its fleet by 2027 with the addition of eight ro-ro vessels. LNG-fuelled newbuildings are being considered, while its existing fleet will undergo retrofitting and optimisations. Sallaum aims to reduce its CO2 emissions by some 40 percent by 2030.
