March 11 - Jakarta, Indonesia headquartered forwarder Rolitrans International has delivered an 80MW gas turbine power plant to Bangladesh.
Rolitrans was commissioned by US energy concern GE Energy to deliver the cargo from Singapore to a remote area of Bangladesh.
With no proper road access to the jobsite and only uncertified barges available within Bangladesh, Rolitrans opted to barge the entire consignment from Singapore through the Bay of Bengal and further north via the river network starting at the Ganges Delta. The USD30 million consignment was barged to a jetty near to the jobsite.
The jetty - a Russian construction from the 1980s - was rebuilt and used to roll-off the shipment.
Rolitrans International is a member of the Project Partners forwarder network.
