DEME’s offshore installation vessel Orion has arrived at Liebherr’s facilities in Rostock, Germany, where the HLC 295000 offshore crane will be fitted.
The HLC 295000 is the largest offshore crane Liebherr has ever constructed. It has a lifting capacity of 5,000 tonnes at an outreach of 30 m. The HLC’s boom measures 160 m long, while the whole crane has a height of 90 m.
In order to install the giant HLC 295000, the recently inaugurated TCC 78000 rail-mounted heavy lift crane will be utilised. The TCC 78000 has a lifting capacity of 1,600 tonnes and a maximum lifting height of 158 m.
