Netherlands-based heavy lift ship operator OOS International has introduced a new semi-submersible accommodation vessel to its fleet.
The OOS Tiradentes is equipped with electrically-driven cranes with a capacity of up to 2 x 60 tonnes and offers accommodation for 600 people.
The vessel, designed to aid offshore maintenance and installation operations, will leave the Yantai CIMC Raffles shipyard in February and travel to Brazil where it will join heavy lift floatel sister ships the OOS Gretha and OOS Prometheus, for a contract with the oil firm Petrobras.
As reported by HLPFI here, OOS will add a further two semi-submersible heavy lift vessels to its fleet next year, the OOS Serooskerke and the OOS Walcheren.
