Pintsch Bubenzer has installed a set of Twin Safe TS800 brakes on two 10,000-tonne capacity revolving cranes on board the semi-submersible vessel Sleipnir.
Part of Heerema Marine Contractors’ fleet, the semi-submersible crane vessel is designed to work on large offshore projects and recently completed its maiden voyage.
The Twin Safe brakes feature a dual-disc design. They are spring set and electrically released – so that in the event of a loss of power the brakes will always be set in a ‘safe’ mode, Pintsch Bubenzer said.
