MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has introduced a ro-ro service from Turkey to Italy, primarily aimed at transporting trailers, containers, project and breakbulk cargo.
The ro-ro service to Trieste will start from Izmir on April 3, and, according to MSC, complements its existing services dedicated to container shipments.
MSC will deploy two con-ro vessels operating a twice-weekly service.
Meanwhile, MSC has strengthened its shipping network in southeast Asia with an office in the Philippines.
MSC says it will offer new services to connect the Philippines with the rest of its worldwide network moving through the key transhipment hubs in the Asia region.
The company will be represented locally in Manila and says it plans to open two more agency offices in Cebu and Davao.
