March 20 - Martinair Cargo - one third of the Air France - KLM - Martinair Cargo airline group - has adopted the CHAMP Cargosystems Cargospot application suite.
CHAMP's Cargospot is a fully integrated, automated air cargo IT system suitable for sales, handling operations and revenue accounting. It was rolled out earlier this month, covering 900 users across numerous countries and several time zones worldwide.
The new system will enable Martinair to respond faster to changes in customer demand and business processes.
According to James Fernandez, vice president global commercial operations, CHAMP Cargosystems: "The project was a very complex one as it demanded the customisation of over 25 Martinair business specific product enhancements. Air France - KLM - Martinair Cargo works with several different general sales agents (GSA), ground handling agents (GHA) and own stations in its global network.
"All of these had to be fully integrated. In addition, the solutions had to be interconnected with various other Martinair Cargo as well as AF-KL IT systems. The successful implementation fully underlines the versatility of the software," he added.
