Shortsea shipping specialist Wijnne Barends christened the 5,900 dwt vessel Lady Monique in Delfzijl on January 28, 2023.
Lady Monique is the fourth and last dry bulk vessel in a series of newbuilds. Its sister vessel Lady Marie Christine was christened during January last year, while Lady Mathilde and Lady Menna were christened towards the end of 2022.
The ships measure 115 m long and are designed to meet all the current environmental requirements. They are dual-fuel ready and can run on LNG.
Shortsea shipping player Wilson placed an order for the construction of six 3,800 dwt newbuildings, plus an option for eight more. Wagenborg, meanwhile, is pressing on with EasyMax newbuilds.
