October 22 - Kuehne + Nagel managed to expand its business volumes during the first nine months of this year, and the Group's EBITDA of CHF271 million USD278.4) in the third quarter marked a record in the company's history.
Compared with the first nine months of last year, turnover was up 18.6percent to CHF 15,178 billion (USD15,589).EBITDA increased by 7.5 percent to CHF 746 million (USD764), with net earnings up 16 percent to CHF 449 million (USD 511).
During the first nine months of 2010, Kuehne + Nagel maintained high-level container volume with a 17 perecent but the company says that growth in the global seafreight market softened in the third quarter.
Looking forward, CEO Reinhard Lange says the group is confident that it will achieve a strongly improved result for the full year, and will concentrate its efforts on the consistent implementation of its growth strategy.
