August 13 - Japan headquartered shipping line Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd (K Line) will form a new business unit focused exclusively on the sales and marketing of ro-ro cargoes - K Line RORO Services Limited.
The new subsidiary will come into effect on October 1, 2013 and it will be responsible for the line's ro-ro cargo business including: construction machinery, agricultural equipment, static cargoes, as well as used automobiles and construction gear.
K Line hopes that the new subsidiary will be able to expand the company's ro-ro cargo customer base, as well as enhance sales to existing ro-ro customers.
K Line said it has seen an increasing diversification of cargoes being loaded into its fleet of car carriers and the formation of K Line RORO Services Limited aims to serve this market more effectively.
