The offshore installation vessel Innovation has loaded out the first three wind turbine foundations and transition pieces for the SeaMade offshore wind farm.
In total, 58 wind turbine structures will be installed at the project site, located approximately 40-50 km off the coast of Ostend in the Belgian part of the North Sea. The wind farm comprises the 252 MW Seastar and 235 MW Mermaid sites.
The structures are being loaded onto DEME’s vessel Innovation at Sif Holding’s terminal at the port of Rotterdam’s Maasvlakte 2.
Installation of the substation topsides and inter-array cables is scheduled for spring 2020, while the towers and nacelles are expected to be mounted onto their foundations in the summer of 2020.
