May 20 - Maritime services provider Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has warned of an increase in carbon tax for vessels operating in Australian waters, effective July 1, 2013.
Carbon tax and bunker duty is charged for all vessels that voyage and refuel in Australian waters. From July 1, 2013 the monetary rate of the carbon tax will increase as described in Table A below. Duty on bunkers is paid in full at AUD 38.143 cents/litre (USD37.27 cents/litre), the rebate amount will be reflected by the carbon tax deduction, as per Table B.
